Hard landscaping or hard scaping comprises of paved areas, driveways, retaining walls, steps, walkways, sleeper walls, gabion baskets, gravel paths and patios  basically anything that is made of a hard wearing products such as wood, metal ,glass or stone would come under this category even the placement of ornamental rocks.
